October 1 is the deadline for nominations to be considered for the 2009-10 Benson High School Hall of Fame. The hall of fame ceremonies have been moved from November to the last Friday in April (April 30 in 2010).

It will be the ninth year that the Alumni Association has joined Benson High School in sponsoring the Hall of Fame. Those enshrined are guests of honor for daylong activities at the school, starting with a welcoming breakfast and a school assembly, and ending with a dinner and the induction ceremony and reception.

Nominations are received and placed on file for consideration. Each year, the Hall of Fame committee meets in late spring to select that year’s inductees.

If you know of classmates or friends whom you feel have achieved excellence in their career or profession, please take the time to nominate them. Graduates must have been out of school for 20 years (the Class of 1989 is eligible this year for the first time), while boosters may  be nominated at any time.

If you know of someone you wish to nominate for the BHS Hall of Fame, please send his/her name, address, class year (if known) and a brief list of achievements. Resumes are requested on all nominations.

You know who is deserving of Hall of Fame status from your class, so please let US know.

The former Benson High School Booster Club established the Hall of Fame in 1978 as a way to acknowledge outstanding graduates and dedicated boosters. This method was chosen to recognize their achievements and provide inspiration for today’s students.
