Hall of Fame: The Benson High School Hall of Fame inducted these outstanding graduates on April 30: Don Harden (1953), Katie Nowinski Reed (1957), Neal (1958) and Larry (1959) Hansen, Donald "D.R." Owen (1961), Fernando "Butch" Lecuona (1969), Richard Anderl (1971) and Dr. Nancy Bird Edick (1976).

Roger Sorensen, 1928-2009: The Benson family mourned the loss of one of its legends, a star athlete, January graduating class president in 1946, a teacher at the school for 33 years and football coach for 16. He has been inducted into the school's academic and athlete halls of fame. Roger died Sept. 14 at a local hospital.
